Ramblings #2

October is almost over. As the week winds down, and the weekend gears up, I'm giddy
with excitement. Not just because I have a half-day of school tommorow, but because of
all the great sports events that this weekend leading into next will offer. From
basketball to football, to baseball and even hockey, this week is going to be chalked full
of sports excitement. Here are a few noteworthy things I think people should watch during the
upcoming week:

1- starting saturday: The 2001 World Series
I love baseball. I love everything about baseball. So do millions of other people on this
planet. And for all of us, this is the big thing. the New York Yankees and the Arizona Diamond-
backs will hook up in what should be a low scoring, pitching minded afair.

2- Starting 10/30/01: NBA basketball
Michael Jordan has been the talk of the sports world for years now, and next week he will begin
another "chapter in his illustrious career". And where better to begin that chapter than the
Big Apple, New York City? Sure MJ has been good in preseason games, but how will he fare when
the games start to count?

3- Sunday: NFL football
As we head towards the middle of the season, we really begin to see the contenders (St. Louis,
Green Bay) and the pretenders (New York Jets, Colts, Vikings). There are many question heading
into sunday: how long will Tennessee's slump continue? Are the Chargers actually that good?

4-Hockey
This we...aw hell, I couldn't find a good hockey game even if I wanted to.....
